BROWN TAEKWONDO WINS THIRD PLACE IN DIVISION II

This past Sunday, October 19, the Brown University Taekwondo Club won third place at the MIT Eastern Collegiate Taekwondo Conference (ECTC) Tournament. There were over 400 competitors registered from 24 schools on the East Coast, including MIT, Harvard, Yale, Cornell, Princeton, and Tufts.

Taekwondo is an ancient Korean martial art as well as one of the core Olympic Sports. At the tournament, participants competed in two categories: Poomsae (forms) and Kyorugi (sparring). The Brown University team is coached by Master Sung Park ‘96 and an Instructor Board composed of Brown students.

 Last April, Brown Taekwondo won first place at the National Collegiate Taekwondo Association (NCTA) Championships adding to the other three Overall National Champion titles and seven Novice Division National Champion titles.
