Brown Swim Club Wins the Ivy League Championships!

Brown Swim Club finishes its 2016-2017 campaign as champions!

All the competitors rose to the occasion to help Brown win back-to-back Ivy League titles with the total score of 1056.5 points, over 100 more than other opponent!  The Brown University Women’s team captured the title with 464.5 points while the Men placed second with 592 points.

Highlights:

Claire Kim led the individual scorers with 81 points, swimming 500 free, 200 IM and 100 fly, three of the toughest events at the Championship. In the 200 IM, Kim beat her own team record by six seconds. Other top scorers included Ryan Burke, Wennie Zhang, Nate McDermott, Margaux Zimmerman and Sam Sandwick. Amber Yidizel showed a strong performance in her first meet relays meet. Her performances helped the women clinch the team title.

 

The following swimmers won individual events:

Ryan Burke – Men’s 50 fly, 100 fly

Claire Kim – Women’s 500 free

Christie Ledingham – Women’s 50 free, 100 free

Nate McDermott – Men’s 100 free

Wennie Zhang – Women’s 100 fly
